Wollongong Picnic for Nature

Co-hosted by: Illawarra Knitting Nannas, Illawarra Landcare

On the 16th of October this year, we'll be holding our first Picnic for Nature where communities across the state will come together to host and hold picnics to celebrate nature. But this is more than just a fun day of getting outside with family and friends. It’s an opportunity to appreciate the natural beauty and biodiversity of your local area and a chance for you to connect with your community. There will be an information table for groups to place leaflets. There will also be short walks and talks about bats, plants and birds on the day!

Illawarra Landcare and the Illawarra Knitting Nannas are co-hosting a Picnic for Nature at Blackbutt Forest Reserve from 11.30am to 2.30pm. Come along to the beautiful Blackbutt Forest Reserve in Shellharbour near Wollongong for a lunch in the sun in nature! Bring a picnic lunch and something to sit on, and don't forget your family and friends.

Location and getting here: Enter Blackbutt Reserve from Blackbutt Way, house No 53 is the last on your left. Drive to the carpark. There are picnic tables and BBQs, kids' playground and the cycle path, and loos. The forest is close by and beautiful and the bat colony close by too.

Please note that your RSVP information will be shared with co-host organisations.
