What are the opportunities to enhance and restore nature through the rollout of renewable energy? How can communities advocate for better outcomes? How exactly does a renewable energy development move through the planning system and how can you have your say?
Join us for the launch of our new Nature & Renewables Toolkit that unpacks these questions and more.
When: Tuesday 26th August, 12:30pm – 1:30pm
Where: Online (Zoom) - Register to receive the Zoom link
The Nature & Renewables Toolkit was developed to help communities in NSW who are grappling with how to achieve a renewables rollout that upholds the values of protecting and enhancing the environment, First Nations self-determination, and reflects the aspirations of local communities. It aims to build up the capacity of communities and local environment groups to engage with the planning process for renewable energy developments in their regions in an informed, constructive way.
This webinar will walk through the elements of the Toolkit and how it can be used, as well a panel discussion with experts in the renewables and nature space unpacking the broader issues and policy context in NSW.
The development of this Toolkit is part of NCC's ongoing work to improve the rollout of renewable energy across NSW and is drawn from the reflections and learnings that people in regions have of the rollout thus far.
