Opera House - Picnic and Paddle for Nature

Hosted by: Rising Tide

Rising Tide is launching a fleet for the climate in November at the People's Blockade of the World's Largest Coal Port.

Come get your sea legs ready with a picnic and paddle on our new inflatable kayaks and join the movement for nature!

At least 25 two-seater inflatable kayaks will be provided - reach out to [email protected] if you would like to organise your own watercraft.

What to expect:

  • a fun and visible activity that makes people stop and get curious
  • BYO picnic brunch with live music
  • connect with other nature-conscious people and a diversity of climate and conservation groups
  • a chance to meet other sailors travelling to the People's Blockade
  • probably get yourself on Channel 7 (if it's a slow news day)

While getting action ready on the water!

What to bring:

  • picnic supplies to share
  • chairs and blankets if you need them
  • hat, sunscreen, and water for safety
  • a life-jacket if you can (some will be provided)

Kids are welcome - and encouraged to attend!

NOTE: Opera House security may ask you to cover political or activist logos as you cross the Opera House forecourt.

Please RSVP using this link - Copy of Kayak Training - Opera House (123formbuilder.com)

We look forward to seeing you there and up-skilling together!

This event will be held on Gadigal Country, and we pay our respects to Indigenous people everywhere, whose struggle for justice remains integrally tied to land rights and environmental protection.
