The health of NSW’s inland rivers and the communities that depend on them hang in the balance. Entire communities have run out of water and ecosystems are collapsing.
After decades of inaction and repeated mass fish deaths, the time for excuses is over.
Come and hear from a delegation of voices from the basin, including graziers, Traditional Owners and community advocates, all united in their vision for a healthy and sustainable Darling/Baaka River system.
Hosted by the Nature Conservation Council of NSW, featuring:
- Aunty Polly Cutmore, Gamilaraay Traditional Owner
- Garry Hall, grazier and irrigator – Macquarie Marshes
- Kate McBride, 5th generation farmer, rural advocate – Menindee
- Mel Gray, water campaigner and community organiser with Nature Conservation Council of NSW – Dubbo
The Independent Connectivity Expert Panel’s interim report outlined a blueprint of reform that would turn the corner and begin to secure the critical flows the river needs. Now we need the NSW government to urgently deliver the recommendations in full.
When: Thursday 15th August 1-2.30pm
Where: NSW Parliament House Theatrette, 6 Macquarie St, Sydney
