Call on Origin Energy to commit to close Eraring power station in 2027 and redirect profits into renewable energy.
When: Wednesday 15th October from 9.30am
Where: the Shangri-La, 176 Cumberland Street, The Rocks, Sydney
Origin Energy is reaping huge profits by keeping Eraring coal fired power station open and slowing the renewable energy transition.
Origin’s NSW customer bills are going up almost 10% in the next year, all whilst the company pockets a $1.5 billion profit.
Their refusal to confirm that Eraring will close in 2027 means uncertainty for renewable energy investors.
Another extension to the lifetime of Eraring, Australia’s biggest coal fired power station, would also put our emission targets at risk.
Join us outside the Annual General Meeting of Origin Energy to tell them to clean up their act.
