NPWS Regional Advisory Committee Representative

Applications are currently being sought for appointments to National Parks and Wildlife Regional Advisory Committees (RACs) across NSW.

RACs play an essential role in representing community interests in the management of national parks, nature reserves and other protected areas in NSW. They advise the Minister for the Environment and the National Parks and Wildlife Service on the condition, management and future of our parks, and have a formal legislative role in the development and review of plans of management and other strategic plans.

Becoming a member of a RAC is an opportunity to contribute your passion and knowledge about parks and conservation, and to make a genuine difference to their future.

Each RAC includes a conservation representative who is jointly nominated by the NSW Nature Conservation Council (NCC) and the National Parks Association of NSW (NPA). NCC and NPA have been invited to put forward three nominees to each of the eight RACs across NSW. The Minister for the Environment will then select one nominee for appointment as the conservation representative on each RAC.

Further information about the role of RACs and their distribution across NSW is available at:

If you would like to be considered as a nominee, please email us with:

  • the RAC(s) you are interested in
