Member sought for Mount Grenfell Historic Site Board of Management
The National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is seeking applications for
membership of the Mount Grenfell Historic Site Board of Management. The
Board is responsible for the care, control and management of the site.
The Mount Grenfell Historic Site was handed back to the Ngiyampaa
Wangaaypuwan people in 2004. The site is located 70 kilometres north-west of
Cobar and has a combined area of 19677 hectares.
This is exciting opportunity to work with the Ngiyampaa Wangaaypuwan people
and NPWS about the management of the site.
Members of the Board are appointed by the Minister for Environment and
Heritage, with concurrence from the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, for terms of
four to six years. Sitting fees are paid, and approved expenses incurred in
attending meetings or conducting Board business are reimbursed by NPWS.
