The largest coal mine every proposed in NSW is heading to the IPC for decision – join our webinar to learn how you can take action.
This gigantic expansion of the Hunter Valley Operations (HVO) mine is completely incompatible with our goal of keeping global warming under 1.5 degrees, what’s needed to ensure a safe climate for communities here in Australia and across the world.
HVO wants approval to mine up to 2045 and produce an additional 800 million tonnes of climate pollution – more than seven time’s NSW’s annual emissions!
In this webinar we’ll:
- Brief you on HVO coal mine and expansion – what it is, how big, what are the impacts etc
- Break down the IPC Assessment Process
-
Guide you through how to have your say by:
- Written submission
- Presenting at the hearing
- Update you on the other big mine expansions under approval – Moolarben & Maules Creek
Date & time: Thursday 2nd July, 6:30-7:30pm
Where: Online (Zoom — RSVP to receive the link)
P.S Don’t like writing submissions or not good at the technical details? This time, we’re looking for folks willing to share their climate story – so if you don’t usually write technical submissions, this could be your chance to share a more personal one and have an impact!
