Election Volunteer Agreement

NCC is an independent charity. We are fiercely non-partisan and want all political parties and candidates in NSW to have strong policies that protect nature.

As a registered charity, NCC is able to compare the policies of political parties and discuss with NSW residents how those policies will protect or harm nature.

We never advocate for a particular party or candidate to win or lose. We stay focused on the issues, not the political party or individual politicians. As such, it is important that whilst volunteering with the Nature Conservation Council that you commit to doing the same.

Please complete this form before conducting volunteer activities. A paper version can be posted to you upon request.

Agreement

I agree that I will not advocate for a particular political party or candidate whilst volunteering for the Nature Conservation Council. I understand that the Nature Conservation Council’s mission is to urge all political parties and candidates to adopt strong policies that will protect nature and maintain a safe climate.

I agree to ensure all the volunteers I work with have also completed this form and understand polling centre rules.

Your quick guide to polling centre rules:

There are some rules that the NSW Electoral Commission and the Charities Act require of us all when working or volunteering with NCC:

  • We are strictly non-partisan and we never advocate for a particular party or candidate to win or lose. We stay focused on the issues, not the political party or individual politicians
  • We stay at least 6 meters away from the entrance of a voting centre to hand out NCCs leaflets
  • We don't amplify our voices in any way that could be audible within a voting centre
  • We do not wear any clothing or accessories, or display any materials, that promote or oppose a political party or candidate while volunteering with NCC

Thank you for all you do!
