2024 Picnics for Nature

Picnic for Nature, three years in!

69 local community groups came together to organise 33 picnics across NSW last weekend. This is phenomenal. It was great to see many groups working together to host joint picnics. Each picnic had its own unique flavour. From a jazz festival on the beach, platypus spotting in the New England, the grande finale of the Yila Healing Trail in the Shoalhaven, kayaking on Sydney Harbour, walking with birds on farms at Eurimbla, making insects and bird boxes to celebrate 40 years since Tomaree National park was gazetted and so many more.

We at the NCC believe that community events are critically important in our efforts to build a strong, inclusive, and passionate environmental NSW. Nature lovers from across NSW gathered in appreciation of our precious environments last weekend. Thank you to all the Picnic for Nature hosts and co-hosts who champion the natural environment, our voice for nature is stronger because of you.

If you would like to tell us about your Picnic for Nature please email [email protected] who looks forward to hearing from you.
