Supporter Engagement Officer

 

Salary:

SCHCADS Award Level 5.1 - $84,854 p.a. plus superannuation pro rata

Initial 6 month contract with option to become permanent dependant on funding

POSITION PURPOSE 

This role supports Nature Conservation Council of NSW (NCC), the state’s peak environment organisation by: 

  • Build the online database of supporters and strengthen how we manage that data 
  • Provide an entry point into the organisation through high quality digital communications  
  • Improve NCC systems and supporter engagement to build the movement for nature in NSW 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

The Supporter Engagement Officer contributes to building the movement for climate action through: 

  • Design and implement effective supporter journeys  
  • Create compelling content for digital and offline channels  
  • Write compelling email content  
  • Audience segmentation within the database (nationbuilder)  
  • Effectively manage the supporter database (nationbuilder) including updating tagging system, implementing supporter journeys 
  • Working with external suppliers to enhance data  
  • Building our supporter base for online to offline actions  
  • Work with the organisers, call centre and other staff to create effective supporter engagement strategy 

 

WHO YOU ARE: 

We are looking for someone who:   

  • Is passionate about protecting nature and stopping climate change 
  • Understands the importance of supporter journeys for campaign outcomes 
  • Is a digital whiz and loves creating high impact content  
  • Knows data and how to maximise its use for fundraising and campaigning  
  • Works well in a team and has a can-do attitude  

Please note that previous experience in the environment movement or NGO sector is not a requirement of this role.

  • Highly motivated and collaborative  
  • Can write compelling email content that inspires people to action 
  • Understand database management, data growth and the importance of managing data properly  
     

Skills & Experience 

  • Experienced in supporter, donor or customer engagement strategies; 
  • Skilled with NationBuilder (or readily able to learn) and data management  
  • Experience creating and testing user journeys  
  • Proven experience with writing effective campaign emails  
  • Graphic design skills
