Don’t give Tony Abbott a coal-fired power plant

Rumours surfaced this week that the Turnbull government is considering spending public funds on an uneconomic, polluting, coal-fired power station, just to appease the far-right of his party[1].

Coal-fired power is on the way out, globally, and in Australia. But using public funds to prop-up this 19th century technology would lock in climate-destroying pollution and higher power prices for decades to come.

Will you send a message to Senator Arthur Sinodinos, calling on him to stand up to Tony Abbott and reject the idea of financing, subsidising, building or approving a new coal-fired power station in Australia?
