A brighter future for Lithgow
Let's promote new industries that will help Lithgow thrive long into the future!

Within the next 20 to 25 years, the Lithgow region’s coal industry will no longer exist. If companies and governments begin to take climate change seriously, they will close much sooner.
The coal industry has been a major contributor to the local economy in the past. Lithgow needs a clear plan for meaningful change, underpinned by new investment and jobs.
Our friends at Colong Foundation, Blue Mountains Conservation Society and Lithgow Environment Group have released the Destination Pagoda Proposal - a plan to turn the Gardens of Stone beside Lithgow into a state conservation area, generating many local jobs and boosting tourism in the region.
The proposal is currently being seriously considered by the Lithgow Council which recently released a report by the Transition Working Group titled “A Case for Economic Change”.
Help create a viable alternative for the region by writing to Lithgow Council advocating for the Destination Pagoda proposal.
