A WIN FOR ANCIENT FORESTS!
Thanks to thousands of people taking action, the NSW Government has backed down on plans to log some of the biggest and oldest trees left in NSW.
In 2018 the NSW Government started to remove protections from these ancient forests.
We developed a campaign strategy with other organisations to pressure the government to scrap its disastrous plan. We mobilised thousands of people across NSW to speak up. We brought the concerns of the community to the halls of parliament, into the offices of decision-makers, and put saving old-growth forests on the political agenda. Almost 25,000 people joined the fight to save some of our oldest forests.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian finally agreed to our campaign demand: to leave mapped old-growth forests protected for good.
Together we fought for old-growth forests and won. We can and will achieve even bigger wins for nature!
