Conservation representatives required for Regional Weeds Committees

The Nature Conservation Council is seeking candidates to sit as representatives on Regional Weeds Committees that are being formed as part of the Local Land Services restructuring of natural resource management in NSW.

Local Land Services NSW has asked NCC to nominate representatives by the end of October.

Regional Weeds Committee cover the state’s 11 LLS regions: Central Tablelands, Central Tablelands, Central West, Greater Sydney, Hunter, Murray, North Coast, North West, Northern Tablelands, Riverina, Southeast.

Suitable candidates will have expertise in weed management at a strategic level, including a good understanding of relevant legislation, and particularly the implications of weed management strategies for biodiversity.
